Code of Conduct

Expected standards of behaviour for everyone involved in the Gloucester County Girls League.

Our Commitment

The Gloucester County Girls League is committed to ensuring that everyone involved in our league — players, managers, coaches, parents, spectators, and volunteers — contributes to a positive, safe, and enjoyable environment.

This Code of Conduct applies to all people associated with the league, at all times — on the pitch, on the touchline, and in all communications.

Managers & Coaches

Hold the appropriate FA coaching qualification and valid DBS check

Complete FA Safeguarding Children Training (renewed every 3 years)

Always put the welfare and enjoyment of players first

Provide positive encouragement and constructive feedback

Respect the decisions of referees and officials at all times

Control the behaviour of parents and spectators on your touchline

Never use abusive, offensive or discriminatory language

Set a good example — you represent your club and the league

Report any safeguarding concerns to your Club Welfare Officer immediately

Players

Play fairly and with respect for opponents, teammates and officials

Accept decisions made by referees without argument

Avoid rough or dangerous play

Never use offensive, insulting, abusive or discriminatory language

Shake hands with opponents after every game

Talk to your coach or Club Welfare Officer if you have any concerns

Parents & Spectators

Encourage all players positively — focus on effort, not results

Stand on the designated spectator side, opposite the technical area

Do not coach players from the touchline — that is the manager's role

Never shout at, criticise or abuse players, coaches or referees

Respect the referee's decisions — do not argue or protest

Do not enter the pitch during or after the match without permission

Be a positive role model for all young players

Zero Tolerance

The following behaviours will not be tolerated under any circumstances:

Racism, sexism, homophobia or any other form of discrimination

Verbal or physical abuse towards players, officials, coaches or spectators

Bullying or harassment of any kind

Threatening or intimidating behaviour

Use of foul, abusive or discriminatory language

Breaches of the Code

Breaches of this Code of Conduct will be reported to the league and may result in disciplinary action, including fines, suspensions, or removal from the league. Serious breaches will be referred to Gloucestershire FA.
